Jim’s Journey - Paying It Forward
Jim’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, dedication, and the lasting impact of community. He began his career in advertising and quickly rose to prominence at Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing and Community Newspapers Group, where he became Publisher and Vice President. Driven by a passion for local connections, Jim launched the Lifestyle Magazine Group, beginning with Weston Lifestyle Magazine. Through this vision, he helped create publications filled with city-specific stories that highlighted events, individuals, and organizations doing extraordinary things for the community. In less than five years, the company grew to six publications across Broward County.
Jim has continued his philanthropic work by supporting many local, national, and global organizations. He has been involved with Rotary for more than three decades, serving as President of the Rotary Club of Weston and later as Governor for Rotary International in South Florida and Grand Bahama Island.
Jim was also twice elected to the Weston City Commission, in 2010 and 2014. Throughout every chapter of his life, he has worked tirelessly to make a meaningful difference for his city and for those in need. Jim has supported many charitable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Kids In Distress, Honor Flight South Florida, Women in Distress, American Cancer Society, MADD, Special Compass, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and ASPCA, to name just a few. When asked why he gives so much of his time, talent, and resources, Jim’s answer reflects the heart of his mission: “I feel very fortunate to have been given so many opportunities in business and in life, and I make every effort to pay it forward. I hope my efforts inspire others and create opportunities for people along the way. If I can help even one person, then I have succeeded. “
In 2011, Jim sold the Lifestyle Magazine Group and embraced a new professional chapter in real estate. This path allowed him to remain deeply connected to the community while helping others achieve the American Dream of homeownership. His business experience, paired with a genuine love for people, has made this transition both meaningful and rewarding. Whether helping first-time buyers or those entering a new season of life, Jim is grateful for every opportunity to turn clients into lifelong friends. Jim’s greatest goal has always been to build lasting relationships. For him, success has never been measured simply by transactions or titles, but by the lives touched, the hope shared, and the community strengthened along the way. His story is a reminder that true leadership is rooted in service, compassion, and the courage to keep moving forward with purpose.
Jim has received many Awards for his Real Estate performance through the years as well as Leadership Awards for his advocacy on behalf of the Real Estate Board and Florida Relators(s). Jim is recognized nationals as a Top Agent for Douglas Elliman (Gold & Platinum Award recipient), Verified Real Trenda and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Brokers.
When the pandemic changed the world, Jim recognized it was time for a new beginning. After living in the same Weston home for almost three decades, he embraced a new chapter in Port Saint Lucie, settling into an active 55+ community and continuing to serve others in meaningful ways. Many families, friends, and former clients followed him into this exciting new lifestyle, drawn by the same spirit of trust, generosity, and connection that has always defined his journey. Join Jim in this inspiring next chapter as he continues to help bring dreams home.
Jim continues to Pay It Forward in his new hometown by sharing his experience and acumen to build a better city. He serves as Chair for the Port Saint Lucie Planning & Zoning Board, providing him, and his clients, with an intimate and sometimes integral knowledge of how the city is growing. This skill set places Jim at the forefront of positive change which is an asset to his real estate buyers and sellers.
Sincerely,

Jim Norton
